The 35th Akbank Jazz Festival returns to Frankhan for another night where jazz grooves keep the energy high and the dance floor alive. As part of the festival, our gathering with Niechęć will take place on October 2nd at Frankhan. Since their formation in 2007, Niechęć (translated as Discontent) has been in constant evolution along with its lineup. Balancing between anger and melancholy, the band has recently leaned into trance rhythms and synthesizer textures while maintaining its improvisational and cinematic spirit. Almost every one of their releases has ranked in the Top 10 most popular jazz albums of the year on Rate Your Music. In February 2025, the group released their fourth full-length album, Reckless Things, marking a fresh beginning with the addition of two new members. With rhythm taking the lead role, the quintet dives deep into electronic genres such as techno, IDM, and UK bass, weaving them seamlessly into their signature jazz noir aesthetic.
