In 2025, Telli Davul performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, bringing the spirit of 1970s Anatolian rock to one of the world’s most prestigious stages. Continuing to perform at festivals across Europe, the band blends traditional Anatolian melodies with elements of disco, psychedelic, funk, and jazz. Named after a term once used in Istanbul’s old orchestras for the bass guitar, Telli Davul was founded by Özer Ateş the group’s producer and bassist, and features Muaz Ceyhan (vocals, yaylı tambur, synth, and çağlama), Maya Muz (keyboards), and Gamze Yılmazel (drums).
