Jitwam, an Indian-born multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and DJ, fuses house, soul, jazz, psychedelia, and diasporic memory into music that resists categorisation and thrives on emotion. His breakout came in 2013, with Moodymann selecting “Keepyourbusinesstoyourself” for his coveted DJ-Kicks and has since unfolded into an impressive production catalogue praised by selectors including Gilles Peterson, Benji B, and Mary Anne Hobbs. Jitwam founded The Jazz Diaries, a label that champions genre-fluid artists working at the intersection of electronic and live instrumentation, and co-founded arts collective CHALO. In 2017, he released his self-titled debut album, ज़ितम सिहँ, followed by Honeycomb (2019), which has since racked up over 100 million streams, and Third (2022), a confident leap into layered songwriting and live-electronic arrangements. Born in Guwahati and raised in Sydney, Jitwam’s sound reflects the years he spent moving through New York, London, and beyond—places that shaped his sonic path. His latest project, a three-part EP set for release in 2025, begins with “ALLIN,” featuring Rimarkable, a stripped-back, house-rooted track mixed by Pearson Sound and mastered by Joker, with contributions from Nikki Nair, Stefan Ringer, Fiorious, and p-rallel.
