NYC and Istanbul based Garan Garan AKA Afyonbando is best knwon for his blend of styles--he plays anything as long as its got some soul. Bringing in sounds that range from minimal soul to psychedelic disco thrillers and jazzy house, he keeps vibes right, day and night. Having started his very first radio show at age 13 , he started getting in the music scene as a digger but moved into DJ'ing in Chicago and has been heavily influenced by the city's soulful House music, dubby basslines and Jazzy chords. Residing in NYC and making a name for himself with his extended sets with blended styles, Garan has played at many international festivals and venues at a very young age. He has had the privilege to share the stage with greats such as Moodyman, Mulatu Astatke, Robert Glasper, Carl Craig, Ron Trent, and Sun Ra Arkestra to name a few.
